Introduction

King Christian 7 died in 1808 and was succeeded by his son, who had ruled the country de facto since 1786 due to the illness of his father. He ascended the throne as King Frederick 6. The royal cyphers in the corners of the infantry colours were not changed however, as the colours themselves were only replaced, after they had become worn out.

The flag was dark blue with buff flames and the city arms of København, displaying three towers over a base covered with waves. For further details see: English WIKIPEDIA
The regiment was raised in 1808 with staff from three disbanded Marine battalions. The colour may possibly have been issued bearing the royal cypher of King Frederik 6.

Terence Wise claims that the basic tincture had been green, but was reported as black in 1809. It is not certain, whether this had been just a replacement of the green flag. Then it should have born the royal cypher of King Frederik 6.
